Dade City, Florida -- Twenty-eight bulls and steers landed outside Dade City Friday ranging from 1,000 to 1,800 pounds. These bulls are athletes and are ready for the fourth bull run of the season at Little Evergaldes Ranch on Saturday.

"Everybody across the country just loves the fact that this is finally here in the United States," says Rob Dickens from The Great Bull Run.

Friday was test run day when cowboys ran the bulls up and down the quarter-mile-long course where on Saturday there will be some 2-3,000 daring bull dodgers, they hope.

"No injuries to the bulls so far, which is really what we want to have happen,"Dickens says.

That's good news for the bulls, but the 10,000 willing participants?

"Humans haven't been so lucky. We've probably had three somewhat serious injuries -- a broken wrist, fractured pelvis, a few concussions."

Dickens says the Little Everglades venue is unique for the bulls.

"They do horse races here so running bulls, instead of horses, is not a whole lot different. The only difference is instead of people on the backs of the horses you've got people on the ground trying to get out of the way of the bulls."

Dickens has one piece of advice for the runners.

"This is not a race. You cannot outrun a bull. The closer you get to the bulls the more risky it becomes. Bulls will get released and when the bulls get to where you are standing that's when you decide whether or not you're going to get out and run with them, or whether you're going to play it safe and hang out by the fence."

Anyone nutty enough to participate in this bull run has to sign a waiver. Organizers tell me there will be at least one, if not two, ambulances as well as a helipad in case there are any serious injuries.
