Bradenton, Florida -- A family pet is dead and two people are temporarily out of a home after a fire in Bradenton on Saturday night.
Just before 8 p.m onSaturday, March 8, fire crews responded to a structure fire on 4th Avenue East. Upon arrival they found smoke and flames visible from a first floor window. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the room of origin and brought thefire under control at 8:20 p.m.
There were no reported resident injuries but the resident's dog was found deceased. The two residents were not in the home at the time of the fire but, due to significant heat, smoke and water damage, they will be assisted by the American Red Cross.
The incident is still under investigation by the Bradenton Fire Department and the State Fire Marshals Office, though arson signs have been posted as the result of suspicious circumstances.
