I was raised in Pine Bluff, Arkansas near the campus of theUniversity of Arkansas at Pine Bluff until my parents moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when I was a young girl.
I have worked on air in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and now Florida. While working in Tallahassee, I taught journalismstudents at Florida A&M University. I spent six years in Jacksonville co-anchoring the 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. segments of The Morning Show and the Noon Show.
I am deeply humbled to have been honored by The Associated Press with an individual achievement award for coverage of the hurricanes in 2004. In 2005 I earned an award from the American Heart Association for "Excellence in Cardiovascular Communications " and two years later received a media ambassador award for my work as a "Power to End Stroke Ambassador." In 2009 I was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists for investigative reporting.
When I'm not working I love to spend time with my husband Chris and our son. I love to read, run, and catch the latest movies.
I love the Tampa Bay community! There are some wonderful people in this area and it's a joy to live and work here. Tampa Bay is a beautiful place with a rich history too.
