LAS VEGAS — Police say a man who tried to loot the Las Vegas dressing room of the all-male revue Thunder From Down Under fired a .44-caliber Magnum handgun at the head of one cast member before he was subdued and left with a black eye.

Police say the man apparently provided a fake name before he was booked Wednesday as "John Doe" after being treated a hospital for injuries received in the Tuesday night scuffle at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino.

The suspect is being held without bail pending an initial court appearance on felony attempted murder, armed robbery and burglary with a weapon charges. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.

Police say someone knocked his hand away and no one was hit by the gunshot.

One cast member was treated for minor injuries.
