Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.

A second Ocearch-tagged shark is swimming right off the coast. (And, yes, we know she's not alone.)

An 11-foot, 2-inch tiger shark named Miss Michalove has made her way down from South Carolina where she was tagged in May to the coast off the Canaveral National Seashore.

The shark "pinged" near the northern Brevard line at 7:38 a.m. Friday. A ping is counted when the shark surfaces long enough for the tracking device attached to her dorsal fin to transmit her coordinates to satellites overhead.

According to the Ocearch website, "Miss Michalove" was the first tiger shark tagged by the cooperative project. Captain Chip Michalove named her in honor of his mother who passed from cancer in 1998.

Miss Michalove is the second Ocearch-tagged shark to swim off our shores. In May, Katharine, a 14-foot great white shark swept past Brevard on her trek to the Gulf of Mexico. At one point, Katharine was less than a mile from the mouth of Sebastian Inlet in an area known to surfers as "Monsters Hole." Accord to her pings, she is still milling about in the Gulf.
