1. British Open begins in the U.K.

Time to tee up! Professional golf's oldest championship, the British Open begins today as golf stars from across the world compete at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, England. The line-up includes lauded champion Tiger Woods, who hasn't won a major title since 2008's U.S. Open — which he won on a broken leg — and the Spongebob-wearing John Daly.
