Wachula, Florida -- A young dog is recovering at Hardee Animal Rescue Team (HART) after being set on fire.
The dog, that the clinic has named Hope, was lit on fire by her owner Friday morning in Arcadia. Luckily, nearby neighbors saw the dog being lit and helped her out. She is now being treated at HART. Hope is a Sharpei mix and only about a year old.
The clinic is looking for donations to help fund her care. To learn more about donations and Hope's progress click here. By clicking on the link you will be taken to the Hardee Animal Clinic Facebook page which has graphic photos of Hope's injuries. Due to the 10 News Crime Coverage Guidelines we have decided not to show these images.
No word on whether the owner has been charged, although Hope is now completely in the care of the Hardee Animal Rescue Team.
