Clearwater, Florida -- Police have arrested a man involved in the overnight shooting that occurred in Clearwater.
The shooting occurred about 1 a.m. at a home on Hillcreek Circle E., which is between U.S. 19 and McMullen Booth Road and just south of Enterprise Road. Alexander Richardson lived at the home with his girlfriend Josephine Austria.
Police were called to the residence shortly after 1 this morning after Richardson ran to a convenience store on McMullen Booth Road and told the clerk he had shot his girlfriend.
Reportedly, Richardson and Austria were hosting a birthday party for a friend. While a few guests were still at the house, Richardson emerged from the bathroom and said that Austria was bleeding and she needed help. It was then he ran from the scene and ended up at the convenience store.
The guest at the party who found Austria noticed she was unresponsive and bleeding from the head.
Josephine Austria, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for later this morning.
