Lakeland, Florida -- Jennifer Fichter, the Lakeland teacher accused of having a sexual affair with one of her students, is facing more charges.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office slapped her Wednesday with 20 additional counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor after yet another student came forward.
According to the affidavit, the new charges stem from further investigation into 29-year-old Fichter's activities after being charged Monday with having sexual relations with a student who attends Central Florida Aerospace Academy, where she is an English teacher. According to police, Fichter admitted to having a 4-month sexual affair, getting pregnant, and then aborting the pregnancy.
Now, a second student has come forward with lurid allegations from back in 2011 when he was a junior at Aerospace Academy. According to the affidavit, the relationship started with texts, then later cuddling on the couch at her apartment, and then it progressed to consensual sex in his bedroom, in his home, when his mother wasn't there.
Fichter remains in the Polk County Jail. She will have her first appearance on the new charges 1 p.m. Thursday.
