Lakeland, Florida -- If you live in a certain section of Lakeland, be warned, police say there have been three drive-by shootings in two days. In other words, you could be the victim of a stray bullet.
On Saturday, a 15-year-old is shot on Brunnell Parkway near George Jenkins Boulevard at 3 p.m. Another 15-year-old shot was just before 7. Police say those two were gang-related.
But then on Sunday at 6:35 p.m., a 16-year-old was shot in a drive-by while walking in the 800 block of Brunnell Parkway, and police say he might have been the victim of mistaken identity. Police say the vehicle, described as a small silver sedan, was heading north on the road when a witness said they saw a person hanging out the back passenger window with a gun and fire several shots at the teen.
The teen suffered one gunshot wound to the chest and he ran to a nearby family member's house who took him to the hospital. The boy's condition is not known at this time.
There is no suspect description available at this time.
