CLEARWATER, Florida (AP) - A Tampa Bay area man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his part in a fatal robbery.
As part of a deal with Pinellas County prosecutors, 21-year-old Randy White pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder. He had been facing a first-degree murder charge, which carries a minimum life sentence.
Authorities say White and two other men - 23-year-old Zachary Perrine and 20-year-old Cody Dials - went to David Rhea's Pinellas Park home in May 2012 to rob him. They had heard the commercial fisherman kept large amounts of cash. Prosecutors have identified Dials as the one who shot Rhea.
Dials and Perrine are still awaiting trial, and White has agreed to testify against them as part of his deal.
