Pinellas Park, Florida -- Pinellas Park Police have one suspect in custody after a bomb scare during a bank robbery at the Grow Financial off of Park Boulevard and 69th Street.
Police say a suspected explosive device was left inside the bank and the Tampa Bomb Squad was called out to the scene to safely detonate it. Further inspection on the device revealed it was merely an alarm clock with a TV antenna taped to the inside of the bag.
Sources at the scene said police were searching for a possible second suspect, but they now believe 22-year-old Carmine Macedonio acted alone.
Macedonio was apprehended by a K-9 and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Some of the money has been recovered.
Police say no one was injured during the incident but bank employees were visibly shaken.
