Holiday, Florida -- A Holiday woman contacted 10 News on Facebook after someone tried to scam her.

"We found a website some type of report -- a scam website -- and we found there are hundreds of people responding to this and some of them, unfortunately, cashed the check and wired the money," said Jennifer Medley.

Jennifer Medley saw the ad on Craigslist: "Get paid for turning your car into a moving billboard."

But she got suspicious when the check she received was more than $400 than she was to be paid.

After lots of digging, and many email exchanges, she learned the man she had been dealing with was a fraud. He was just using the name of a legitimate company.

If you've fallen victim to a similar scam, contact police.
