The Polk County Sheriff's Office is currently seeking the public's help in finding 20-year-old Tonea Nicola Crawford. A warrant is out for her arrest on the charges of robbery with a weapon and grand theft. Crawford is known to live in the Tampa area. Her last known address is 2008 E. Comanche Avenue, Tampa.
In August of 2013 at the Bealls store located at 4175 Highway 98 North in Lakeland, Crawford was involved in a retail theft involving another suspect who ran out of the Bealls store with hundreds of dollars of stolen clothing.
When a loss prevention officer from Bealls chased one of the suspects around a waiting car and then temporarily detained her, Crawford, who had jumped into the back seat of the vehicle, got back out of the waiting car and sprayed the loss prevention officer with some kind of chemical agent, allowing the second suspect to get into the car with Crawford and flee the area.
Crawford was also involved when three suspects stole hundreds of dollars of clothing from the Belk store located at 1400 Town Center Drive in Lakeland on April 26, 2014. Crawford and the two other suspects are believed to be involved as a group in organized retail theft activity throughout the central Florida area.
