Brooksville, Florida -- Deputies have charged Jerome Sheridan with the murder of a high school teacher in Brooksville.

Lee Anne Shoeman was an English teacher at Central High School. She was found dead in her home on Monday.

Hillsborough deputies say they found Sheridan in the parking lot of Citrus Park Mall on Monday evening, inside his car and attempting to cut his wrists.

Sheridan was taken into custody and charged with first degree murder. He is expected to have his first court appearance on Wednesday.

Grief counselors will be at the school on Tuesday morning.
