Pinellas Park, Florida -- Police say their K-9 unit helped sniff out a car burglary suspect early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the 5800 block of 86th Avenue around 3 a.m. following reports of a man breaking into several vehicles. Witnesses say that as police arrived, the suspect fled on foot.
Pinellas Park police set up a perimeter and deployed a K-9 unit in an attempt to locate the burglar. He was eventually found a few blocks away, hiding inside a pickup truck that was parked in the driveway. He was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, 19-year-old Brian Keith Harrington Jr., faces four counts of vehicle burglary, as well as violation of probation. Police say they expect to file more charges against Harrington.
Harrington had been on probation for only a month for seven burglary convictions when he was arrested on Sunday. Police say he has an extensive record, both as a juvenile and as an adult.
The suspect is currently being held in Pinellas County Jail without bond
