The first signs of spring are here!

But those buds on the trees bring pollen. That means months of misery for allergy sufferers.

Doctors say the wet weather this winter primed the trees, and cold temperatures delayed the start of allergy season.

"Now all of the tree pollen and the budding trees are ready to go, and they are pollinating very aggressively," says Dr. Clifford Basset, the Medical Director at Allergy and Asthma Care of NY. "There is a pollen burst going on right now."

The biggest culprits this time of year are trees and grasses, as well as mold.

Experts say folks with allergies should check pollen counts before heading out, which are usually higher in the morning.

Besides taking allergy medication before symptoms start, allergists recommend wearing sunglasses to keep pollen out of your eyes, and showering every night to wash all the pollen off your skin and hair.
