Tampa, Florida -- Feel like your drive to work has to be the longest in all of Tampa Bay? Well, thanks to some incredible new data, we're about to tell you whether you're right.

10 News has dug deep into a new batch of information from the U.S. Census. We looked at the three counties with the most commuters -- Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough.

The census bureau then splits them up by something called a census tract. It's basically an area about the size of a zip code. For each one, we have the average commute to work reported by the people who live there.

Commuters in South Tampa, where drives average 15 to 18 minutes, are prime examples of the two main reasons some areas have a better commute:

They're close to where people work, like a military base, a university, or a downtown area.

And they have great transportation connections. From the main gate of MacDill Air Force Base, for example, you can get to Downtown Tampa in just over ten minutes and Downtown St. Pete in just over 25.
