Seminole, Florida -- "He wasn't just a worker. He was considered a close friend."

Mercy Iturriaga's sadness matches the gray, wet night after tragedy struck her company's construction site in Seminole.

"It was raining. He went to close his windows, and 15 minutes later he didn't come back."

He -- Agustin Navarrete-Guerrero, a plasterer with JM Stucco of Brandon -- was found dead near his pickup truck. He had been working with the company for six months, and was currently working on new units at the Bayou Grande condominium community.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says it appears lightning played a role in his death.

Daniel LaDonna lives just 500 feet from where Navarrete-Guerrero died and saw him walk to his truck. He says the whole thing is just too freaky.

"A person had died in my backyard! [The lightning] was real loud, but I didn't think it was that close," he says.

As for the workers of JM Stucco, and Agustin's three brothers -- who lived with him and lost their father just a few months ago --they're just trying to stay strong.

"We need to remember the good things … how he made us laugh. This, I think, will help us go on," says Iturriaga.

JM Stucco plans to suspend work for the next few days, while funeral arrangements are made.
