St. Petersburg, Florida -- Even from an early age, kids know all about bullies.

"I saw someone fighting my friend and I stood up to them," said 8-year-old Jillian.

The fact that kids that young are dealing with bullies is the entire reason the St. Petersburg Police Department is trying to saddle this problem.

They're bringing in the horse.

"He's very special to these kids because he's here to help teach them about bullying prevention which is obviously a problem across the nation," said Amos' owner, Shelly Mizrahi.

"We really want to reach as many kids as possible," said Mizrahi.

The horse accompanied Officer Janie Staples this morning at the St. Pete Police Athletic League complex. The kids got to pet Amos and listen to a lesson on why bullying isn't the right answer. They also got to watch Amos in action.

"The horse taught me how to play basketball," chuckled 7-year-old Julian.

Amos is no ordinary horse. He can dunk a basketball into a tiny hoop and Mizrahi was able to train him in three 15-minutes sessions. Now, he plans to take his act and his message on the road. The police and Amos plan to partner this upcoming school year in the "Just Say Whoa to Bullying!" initiative.

"If we change one kid's life into stopping them from being bullied or stopping them from bullying, then we've done our job," said Officer Staples.
