Lutz, Florida -- Pasco County Sheriff's deputies say a missing elderly woman has been found dead inside the trunk of her Honda Odyssey minivan, which was parked outside her home.
A Silver Alert had been issued on Monday morning for 74-year-old Sylvia Rosalie Schmitt. She was reported missing from her home at the Paradise Lakes Condominium Association nudist community in Lutz.
Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco says they have charged her grandson, 18-year-old Brandon Machetto, with Schmitt's murder. Nocco says Machetto has a juvenile criminal history for domestic violence, including a previous altercation with Schmitt.
A neighbor called 911 after seeing Machetto acting suspiciously outside of Schmitt's home early Monday morning. That caller claims Machetto appeared to place a body inside his grandmother's minivan.
After the Silver Alert was issued, a deputy patrolling outside the neighborhood spotted Schmitt's minivan entering the gated community just after 10 a.m. The deputy made a traffic stop and Brandon Machetto was taken into custody.
Deputies say Schmitt's body was found inside the vehicle.

One of Schmitt's closest friends was visibly shaken when talking about her this afternoon. She says she was close to Schmitt, who had lived in the community for more than 30 years.
Machetto had reportedly been living with his grandmother for the past several weeks.
A grandson is the suspect in the death of his grandmother.
