Wimauma, Florida -- Firefighters battled two brush fires likely caused by lightning in southern Hillsborough County late Thursday.

The larger one -- 50 to 60 acres -- was near near Taft Street in Wimauma.

The smaller one, about eight to 10 acres, burned land off of Sweat Loop and threatening a herd of cattle, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

Two brush fires in Hillsborough are blamed on lightning.
