A driver is hospitalized this evening after their pickup struck two parked vehicles near the top of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, about 4 p.m. today a 2009 Chevrolet pickup was headed north on Interstate 275 in the outside lane approaching the top of the bridge when it drifted out its lane and struck two unoccupied trucks parked on the outside shoulder. The trucks were parked there because of construction and maintenance on the bridge.

The pickup stopped partially blocking the outside lane.
The driver from Dunedin suffered critical injuries and was taken to Bayfront Medical Center.
