St. Petersburg, Florida - More than 100,000 people have packed St. Petersburg tonight for the annual Pride Parade. The parade begins downtown and will be kicking off at sundown.

It's not just a pride party but people at the parade say all of this is also political.

In 2008 voters decided to ban gay marriage in Florida. But LGBT supporters say that discriminates against gay couples, and even worse, also doesn't recognize same sex marriages performed in other states. Supporters out here want this to change and they want it to change this next election.

This event has been dubbed the largest pride celebration in all of Florida. Police are patrolling the parade, officials say in years past people with opposing views protested. We have already seen some of that tonight.
