Tampa, Florida -- On Tuesday, demolition began on the mansion owned by tennis star James Blake. The home, worth approximately $1.6 million, burned down back on May 7.

The permit for demolition was issued last month and expires in December. On Tuesday, July 1, just a single backhoe was tearing down parts of the home and moving around debris.

The home was being rented by 49-year-old Darrin Campbell who is accused of shooting and killing his wife and two kids before killing himself. Deputies say Campbell also bought fireworks, strung them throughout the house, and then lit them on fire, causing an explosion and the subsequent fire.

The motive is still unknown as the case remains under investigation.
