Palm Harbor, Florida -- An investigation spanning a couple of months has ended in the arrest of a man who was stealing people's credit cards.

Jeffrey Mathis had been entering vehicles parked in various residential areas of Pinellas and Pasco Counties and taking items such as credit cards and personal identification. Deputies located Mathis in the late on Friday, July 4

Detectives met with Mathis and he was found to be in possession of multiple Driver's Licenses, credit cards, gift cards and a blank check.

Mathis was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. Mathis has been charged with Grand Theft Auto, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Narcotics, Resisting An Officer without Violence and Burglary Conveyance Unoccupied.

The investigation continues.
