Tampa, Florida -- Doctors are working to save a dog who appears to have been attacked by a wild hog.

The approximately 10-year-old boxer, name River by her rescuers, was found in the woods near the Withlacoochee River in the Green Swamp Wildlife Management Area.

BluePearl Veterinary Partners specialty and emergency hospital say River is suffering from two puncture wounds that resemble those consistent with an attack from a wild boar. She also has a fractured jaw.

Second Chance Boxer Rescue has undertaken the costs of River's care. They are looking for donations from the public to help with her medical expenses.

People interested in donating should do so by clicking here or by calling 813-263-6450.
