Tampa, Florida -- It's called Metrocon, a celebration of Japanese animation and video games, and it brings out human creativity.
Crawling all over downtown Tampa, costume clad convention goers bring the beauty and the Benjamins. From masks to music to merchandise, the cash is flowing.
Across from the Tampa Convention Center, Marvel Universe opens at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. It's an epic live action show that brings together 25 Marvel characters. The big hotels downtown, Embassy Suites, Marriott Waterside, and the Westin Harbour Island are full, flooding Tampa's coffers with revenue.
It's a night of frolicking fun for all. Inside the convention center's main event hall, there is a 10,000 square-foot dance floor of Metrocon fashionistas from Atlanta, New York, Miami and LA, just a few of the cities bringing bank to the big guava.
Both conventions run through Sunday.
