Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police officers are asking for the public's help locating a man who stole a woman's purse while she waited a bus stop Friday afternoon.

Police say around 1 p.m. on July 11, the man in his early 30's confronted the woman as she was sitting on the Hart Line bus bench on the east side of Florida Avenue N. at Patterson Avenue E. He then grabbed her purse from her shoulder, but she wouldn't let go. He reportedly told her, "give me your purse so I don't have to hurt ya," and then ripped the purse from her grip.

The suspect then placed the purse inside a backpack he was holding and boarded the bus. The victim told the driver of the robbery and the driver did not move the bus. The suspect then exited the bus at this same bus stop and was last seen walking northbound on Florida Avenue N.

Anyone with information about either of these armed robberies is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS(8477) or text "CSTB plus your tip" to 274637 (CRIMES). Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash.
