Winter Haven, Florida -- A 25-year-old man is wanted for shooting at three people in a car Monday afternoon that left two people wounded, according to Winter Haven police.

Byron Nigel Swan, who is considered armed and dangerous, is wanted on three counts of attempted first-degree murder, police said.

About 5 p.m. Monday, Swan approached a vehicle with three occupants near 5th St., N.E. and Ave. O N.E. in Winter Haven, according to police. The vehicle was stopped with one door open as the three men inside talked with someone. Then, Swan approached and fired into the vehicle.

The men in the vehicle recognized Swan, police said.

Two of the occupants were wounded and the third drove the vehicle to Winter Haven Hospital, police said. One victim was treated and released. The second victim was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, had surgery for his injuries and is hospitalized in critical condition.
