Clearwater, Florida -- A Clearwater woman's dog is back safe with her owner Tuesday after two Humane Society of Pinellas caretakers and neighbors helped rescued the pup after she got stuck underneath her home's porch.

The Humane Society of Pinellas says Delilah Gagliardi let her dog, Allie, into her backyard on Saturday, but when she tried to let her back in, Allie was gone. For two days, Delilah hoped her dog would come home.

Monday afternoon she was sitting in her living room and heard whining under her floorboards. Allie had found her way under the house where she became trapped. Delilah called the Humane Society of Pinellas, frantic.

Animal caretakers Maddy Ferguson and Shelby Ross rushed to the Clearwater home to help free Allie. Allie made no sound until the family baby started to cry -- Allie then gave a whimper. They tried reaching her by following her path under the house, then digging underneath the opposite corner. Finally, onlookers dismantled the front porch and Maddy and Shelby dug toward Allie while Allie dug toward them.

Once she was released, Allie jumped into her owners' arms and ran around licking everyone's faces.
