St. Petersburg, Florida -- The Circle K/Shell station at 54th Avenue and 71st Street North has been shut down after an employee discovered what Pinellas County deputies say is a suspected skimming device on a gas pump.

Bob Camposecco was about to fill up when an employee was checking the pump opposite him.

The employee found the suspected device on pump No. 4 and told Camposecco to stop.

"When he opened it up, he realized there was a device inside there," he said.

Deputies removed the suspected skimming device and it is now being analyzed.

A consumer alerted authorities to a suspected skimmer in St. Petersburg.
