Men accused of stealing designer purses
St. Petersburg, Florida - St. Petersburg police have arrested two men who allegedly stole several designer purses from T. J. Maxx and Marshalls Department Stores in St. Petersburg.
The purses are worth a little more than 2,000 dollars.
29-year-old George William Reed has been charged with 2 counts of Grand Theft and 24-year-old Vangelios Hristov has been charged with 1 count of Grand Theft. Police say a third suspect has been identified, but is not yet in custody.
Investigators say the crimes happened on Wednesday, July 16 at 6:22 p.m at the T.J. Maxx store located at 2105 66th Street North and then on Thursday, July y 17 at 4:00 p.m. at the Marshalls Department store located in 2036 66th Street North.
In the first case, detectives say three male suspects entered the T.J. Maxx store and stole five Michael Kors purses, valued at $895.00.
In the second case, the same three suspects entered the Marshalls Department store and stole eight Michael Kors purses, valued at $1,432.00. The suspects were last seen getting into a blue sedan.
Detectives say they made the arrests after they released photos from a store surveillance camera and someone called in a tip after the suspect's identities were displayed.
