Pasco County, Florida -- When a member of the Pasco County Motor Unit ended up in the hospital with significan health issues, members of his team decided to surprise him with something that is a big part of his 28-years with the force.

The Motor Unit brought a Victory Police Motorcycle to Cpl. Richard "Rick" Roller at the Florida Hospital Long Term Acute Care at Connerton on Wednesday. Cpl. Roller has been enduring significant health issues and is currently recovering in the ICU. He has been an active member of the motor unit for 28 years.

To surprise him, members of Special Operations and some of his fellow Motor Unit team brought his motorcycle into Cpl. Roller's hospital room to offer him some good cheer during this most difficult time.

When the Pasco County Sheriff's Office posted this story on their Facebook page, many comments highlighted Cpr. Roller's importance in the community with comments like:

He gave me a ticket about a month ago. He was extremely nice and even though I was getting a ticket brightened my day. Wish for a speedy recovery so he can continue to brighten people's days. -- Jonathan DeJarnette

And

If Rick. Roller gave you a ticket, you deserved it. He is a fine fellow with a great sense of humor and I always enjoyed seeing him in court. -- Chrisandbob Cole
