Run while you wig out

Run while raising awareness about brain tumor research at South Straub Park in St. Petersburg. The run is a 5K through St. Pete and if you can't make the run, join the fun afterwards where there will be food, games, and a beer garden. Click here for more information and remember to wear a wig!

Participate in a watermelon eating contest

At the North Tampa Market Watermelon Eating Contest! 100% of the donations go to the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA. It will be held at the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Click here for official watermelon-eating rules.

See a movie at Sunset

Another movie at Pier 60 in Clearwater. This time they are playing the Oscar-nominated Philomena (PG-13). The movie starts at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) and viewers can bring low lying chairs and blankets to sit on. Popcorn and snacks will available for sale.

Rock out with Thirty Seconds to Mars

They will be at the Steinbrenner Field along with Linkin Park and AFI. Show starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are still on sale!

More Comic Con!

Did you miss the Tampa Comic Con? That's ok! The Mid-Pinellas Comic Con (and Maker Faire) will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Seminole Community Library. There will be panels, displays of collectables, and a costume contest. Also, it's free!

Reptile sale in Sarasota

Want to buy an exotic reptile, or just learn about them? Then go to the ReptiDay Sarasota Show at the Sarasota County Fairground from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will also be classes on how to care for big snakes, a live reptile presentation on unusual amphibians and much more. Tickets cost between $5 and $12.

Half off pet adoptions in Hillsborough

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay will have half-off all adoptions along with a car show, Indy driver Will power, food and much more. The Human Society of Tampa Bay is on North Armenia Avenue and the event will last until 5 p.m.

Have an evening with Elephants

For one night at Busch Gardens, guests will get a firsthand look into animal care with behind-the-scenes tours, trainer talks, interactive displays and an exclusive chance to dine with elephants. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests can join trainers for an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience, including an up-close look at elephants and indulging in appetizers and specialty drinks while trainers share stories about elephant conservation and caring for these magnificent animals. The evening is limited to guests 13 years of age and older. Busch Gardens admission is required but not included.

You'll find everything from fresh produce, food, flowers and plants to arts and crafts, friends and fun, it's a community happening!
