Bradenton, Florida - A Bay area nursing home is on the state of Florida's Watch List.
The Woods at Manatee Springs made the list after a resident reportedly fell in his bedroom and fractured his shoulder.
Cindy Daughters, the administrator for The Woods says an aide found the resident "minutes" after he fell. But according to the inspection report, he was not hospitalized until nine hours later.
A nursing home making the list does so for not meeting minimum standards at the time of inspection. A facility stays on the list for 30 months, or 2 ½ years.
Administrator Cindy Daughters says in a statement, "The Management and staff at The Woods of Manatee Springs strongly disagrees with the finding of our recent state inspection. We have appealed to the Agency for Health Care Administration to hear evidence supporting our attestation that we provide excellent care to our patients and residents."
