St. Petersburg, Florida -- $350,000. It's a lot of money. The sum could be a game-changer for most any charity and you can help decide which Tampa Bay group will receive it.
The Humana Foundation is awarding the grant.
"We want to see transformational change in the community," says Humana's Dr. Theo Sai.
Humana is a health and wellness company and the charities involved aim to improve lives in a variety of ways.
Three local groups are now vying for the big check: Sunrise at Pasco, a domestic abuse shelter; Starting Right, Now, a program that helps homeless students, and the Pinellas Education Foundation, a group that enhances educational opportunities for kids.
Online voting will account for 20% of the group's score and a panel of judges, including 10 News anchor Allison Kropff, will pick the winning charity. The winner will be announced in September.
To learn more about the community groups and to vote for your favorite go to the Humana Foundation website.
