New Port Richey, Florida -- A man was arrested for violating probation after killing his dog.

The judge refused bond because he violated a very big part of his probation.

Back in May, Brian Perry was convicted of killing his own dog with his bare hands. He was not sentenced any jail time but instead was sentenced to community service at an animal shelter. He was also not allowed to own any animals, except for the two dogs he already had, and he was not allowed to drink.

Perry was drinking the night he killed his German Shepherd/Rottweiller Gipper.

On Wednesday, August 20, his probation officer made an unannounced visit to Perry's home and found a strong odor of alcohol coming from Perry. Perry admitted to drinking 3 beers and the officer found more cans in the garbage.

Perry is being held on no bond until a probation hearing is scheduled.
