Tampa, Florida -- A 27-year-old man is under arrest in connection with a shooting outside of a downtown club that left another man dead.
Edgardo Molina of Tampa was arrested Friday by the Tampa police Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
He was ejected for fighting about 1:50 a.m. Thursday from Club Underground , 802 W. Whiting St., police said.
Molina then confronted Terence Wilson, 23, in the parking lot, and when the man tried to flee, Molina shot him, according to police. Wilson died at the scene.
Molina is charged with second-degree murder, and is being held without bond in the Hillsborough County Jail.
Police said the club has had several calls within the past year. It was formally known as the Underground, but Wednesday was the grand opening of the new District 3.
Jeremy Delgado was at the grand opening and returned to the crime scene outside the club Wednesday morning to pick up his motorcycle. But he was not able get to get it before because it was in the midst of a murder investigation.
"There were cops over there cops there, there," said Delgado.
According to investigators, several people witnessed the shooting, one of whom flagged down an officer for help, but it was too late.
A spokesperson for TPD said that this club has been known to hire extra officers for tighter security in the past, but that did not happen Wednesday night.
