(FloridaToday.com) - Rockledge police believe one of the two robbers who grabbed Snickers bars and cash from a 7-Eleven was wearing a Mario Kart backpack.

The 16-inch Nintendo bag features an image of the video game character Mario on a go-kart, according to Investigator Bryce Philips, who was able to make the match by comparing the three stars at the top of the bag to surveillance photos.

Police believe one robber was a man, the other was a woman who was wearing the backpack.

The robbery occurred at the gas station near Murrell Road and Barnes Boulevard at about 1:35 a.m. Sunday morning,

Surveillance photos show they entered the convenience store wearing dark clothing, gloves, with their faces covered. They brandished a silver semi-automatic handgun. They brought the clerk to the cash register and took the entire drawer, which contained a small amount of cash.

Police don't know if a car was waiting or if the robbers ran away.

Anyone with information regarding these people should contact Investigator Bryce Phillips at 321- 690-3988 ext. 3149 or bphillips@rockledgepolice.org.
