ORLANDO, FLA. -- A Walt Disney World custodial worker was arrested on Friday on allegations of holding a coworker against her will and sexually battering her in a closet at their place of work.
49-year-old Gideon Paul Hunte, was arrested on charges of kidnapping and sexual battery.
Orange County Sheriff's Office officials have said that the woman claimed that Hunte, whom she only knew from seeing him at work, pinned her against a wall in a custodial closet on Thursday evening and forced her onto her knees while attacking her.
According to the Sheriff's office, the victim told deputies that she resisted throughout the duration of the attack, which lasted about five minutes.
She thinks that her attacker stopped the attack because she would not keep quiet.
The incident was reported by the victim to her supervisor. She was crying hysterically and was shaken up. Her supervisor then contacted police.
The victim was not friends with Hunte and has never had a relationship with him.
Disney said in a statement, "This is a law enforcement matter. He has been placed on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the charges. We have zero tolerance for this type of alleged behavior."
It is unknown how long Hunte has been working at Disney and the theme park would not release this information or the extent of his interactions with park guests, but they did say that the attack happened in a back stage area where guests were not present.
Hunte was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail after being interviewed by detectives.
According to neighbors, Hunte is married with children and the attack seems completely out of character.
