MIAMI, FL (CBSMiami) -- High School hate mail has made its way to the Head Coach of Miami Central High's nationally ranked football team.
The sender claims to be a Hoover Buccaneers fan, the team that the Miami Central Rockets are up against in Alabama Saturday.
On the front of the envelope postmarked from Alabama, it says "Hoover Bucs #1".
On the back of the envelope there is an expletive and racial slur.
Miami Central High Alumni President William Clark said " The letter stated after we beat your expletive, remind the Miami fans to pick up their chicken bones and their red cups in which they're drinking Kool Aid and liquor out of and take it back to Miami."
The unsportsmanlike letter has sparked outrage and concern on both sides of the field.
The Miami-Dade School District released a statement saying "it is shameful and disconcerting that a letter containing racial slurs would be used against our children. Miami-Dade School Police Investigators are working alongside Hoover Police Department to vigorously investigate this incident."
Hoover City Schools said: "Police continue to trace the letter's origins, in the meantime, our focus remains on preparation for Saturday's match up."
During their stay in Hoover, Miami students will have Hoover Police security.
