Tallahassee, Florida -- Starting today, Sept. 1, Floridians will begin paying less for vehicle registration.

The registration rollback is part of a $500 million package of tax and fee cuts approved by the Florida Legislature this spring. The price cut is expected to save car owners between $17 and $25 a year depending on the size of the vehicle.

"The reduction in vehicle registration fees will benefit both individuals, as well as the Florida business community," said DHSMV Executive Director Terry L. Rhodes. "There are more than 14 million registered vehicles here in Florida that are covered by these fee reductions and that is a lot of savings for the people of Florida."
