Tampa, Florida - More than a dozen units at Wildwood Acres Apartment complex flooded on Friday. The complex is located at the corner of Dottie Drive and Fletcher Avenue, near the University of South Florida.

Management at the complex said that number could change as residents return home for the day. Workers could be seen removing saturated carpet padding from several units and using heavy equipment to remove water from carpets.

Tiffany Miller is a resident who says, "The sky got dark all of a sudden, and the rain just started pouring. It was non-stop. It was just a mess."

Miller says she believes a couple of inches drained into the apartment she shares with Demetria White.

Miller says, "It came all the way in the living room, the bedrooms, the carpet... everything is just saturated. You see the leaves, the dirt, just everything was just inside. I had to brush it out."

The management at Wildwood Acres Apartment called in the professionals to help. Several workers were busy going door to door Friday afternoon. Meanwhile Miller, a University of South Florida student, says she can't really start her weekend until her home sweet home dries out.

She adds, "It definitely puts a hamper on the fun. It has flooded before. But this is the worst I've ever seen it."
