TEMPLE TERRACE, Florida - Police arrested the family friend entrusted with 9-year-old Felecia Williams, charging her with lying to detectives about what happened the night the little girl was murdered. But authorities are revealing few other details about what lead to the recovery of the girl's body Saturday afternoon along the Courtney Campbell Causeway near Clearwater.

A Sunday autopsy of Williams' body confirmed the girl was murdered, although Temple Terrace Police Chief Ken Albano said his hands were tied with releasing more information because the case remains active.

"I spent yesterday evening with the family," Albano said while shaking his hands, seemingly in frustration. "I went out there and I made a promise to that family and that mother that we would do everything we could to ensure that every step was taken to restore this time so that we could bring to justice the person [who did] this to her daughter."

Albano said Eboni Wiley, 23, was arrested after giving "several different" accounts of what happened after she left Williams' home with the girl. Originally, she told police she left Williams to watch cartoons while she took a shower at a friend's apartment at Doral Oaks in Temple Terrace, only to find her missing when she got out. However, details of what exactly happened at the apartment remain somewhat a mystery.

Police would not say if there was a specific suspect or person of interest in the murder, but Wiley bonded out of jail Sunday morning and was released. The authorities, however, apparently have enough information to put other parents at-ease.

"It is most definitely an isolated incident," Albano said, "and we are following up with the help of a numerous number of our local law enforcement partners."

Williams attended Edison Elementary school, near 15th St. and Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa.

Among the agencies helping police in Temple Terrace: the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the Tampa Police Department, the Clearwater Police Department, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the FBI.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Temple Terrace Police Department at 813-989-7110.
