Palm Harbor, Florida -- Arson detectives with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office have joined Palm Harbor Fire Rescue and the State Fire Marshall in the investigation into an overnight fire that destroyed a private storage facility and all of its contents on ALT 19 near Klosterman Road Wednesday.

The sheriff's office says a total of 80 recreational vehicles were destroyed including boats, RVs and classic cars at Florida West RV Storage Facility at 4470 ALT 19.

Debbie and Dan Gosche are among the victims.

"We keep it undercover there so it's protected," said Dan. "Didn't work out so well."

The Gosches just got back from a trip Tuesday afternoon and woke up this morning to discover what was left of their RV.

"I ran and grabbed him," said Debbie. "The RV place is on fire -- our worst nightmare's happened now."

A 3-alarm fire at the Florida West RV Storage building on Alt. 19 in Palm Harbor destroyed all of its contents, including boats, RVs and classic cars.

The couple enjoyed traveling and family camping trips in their 5th wheel trailer that's now charred to pieces.

"It took a while for me to get used to camping and now I love it. Just getting back home yesterday, hits a little too close to home," said Debbie.

The Gosches agree that their prize possession will be missed, but have different views about the loss.

"She's emotionally connected to it, I'm like it's an RV," said Dan. "We got insurance we'll buy a new one and we'll go camping again."

James Reed said that he will replace his RV too, but admitted that it's much more than material things that were lost in the fire.

"We bought that when my son was just like four or five years old, and so he grew up spending all of his vacations doing that," Reed said.

Both families, saddened by their demolished RVs, realize the memories made in them will continue to live.

No one was hurt in the fire.
