Tarpon Springs, FL - A father is in custody and a 1-year-old child is safe after a SWAT situation on the 500 block of S Levis Ave.
Around 10:00 p.m. on April 29th, the Tarpon Springs Police Department responded to a complaint of a possible criminal mischief in the area.
Once officers arrived they were advised by the suspects mother that her 27-year-old son had come inside the house acting strange and advised her that he doused her "Rib Shack" barbecue grill trailer with gasoline, which was parked out front of the residence.
Her son never ignited the grill, but he then locked himself in the rear bedroom of the residence where his 1-year-old son was sleeping, and would not respond to his mother at all.
Officers were able to negotiate with the man and the 1-year-old child was taken into protective custody and was uninjured.
