The search is on for a missing boater but has been stopped temporarily.
Weather is a challenge for Florida Fish and Wildlife search and rescue crews.
The missing boater is 63-year-old Enrique Rodriguez.
He is from Avon Park.
On Saturday afternoon he and his three friends went fishing near Egmont Key. At 2:00am their boat capsized. Only Rodriquez's friends survived. Rodriguez could not swim.
The survivors held onto their cooler as a flotation device and shared one life jacket between the three of them until they reached a navigational buoy.
A good Samaritan spotted the three survivors and took them back to Fort De Soto Park, where they originally launched.
Florida Fish and Wildlife officers said if there had been a life jacket for each man on board, like is required then there would have been a better chance of all four surviving.
"The expense of any type of safety equipment it's not worth your life," said FWC officer, Baryl Martin.
