Clearwater, Florida -- More than 1,500 restaurant workers are waiting to see if they are going to be paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in back pay and damages.

10 News went straight to Frenchy's headquarters Wednesday morning looking for answers.

One of the general managers told us that they are not commenting on the labor report and that they would get back with us later this afternoon.

"Until we get a time to sit down and have some meetings with Mr. Preston, right now, we are just going with 'no comment,' " said a Frenchy's employee.

Five Frenchy's restaurant locations in Clearwater made the list of labor violations. This stems from a 2-year investigation from the United States Department of Labor.

One of the general managers told us that they are not commenting on the labor report and that they would get back with us later this afternoon.

Investigators found multiple violations of the fair labor standards act including things like overtime, minimum wage, record keeping and child labor provisions.

On top of the $861,000 in back pay, these employees will get 1$50,000 in damages.

Two Vallarta's Mexican restaurant locations in Tampa also made the list.

UPDATE: Late Wednesday afternoon, Frenchy's released a statement on the labor issues:

"Nearly a year ago, Frenchy's entered into an agreement with the Department of Labor to resolve an issue related to employee tips. Once we became aware of this issue, we immediately corrected it, made full payment to all affected employees and are in full compliance with all labor and employment laws.

At Frenchy's, our employees are like family. We do everything we can to treat them well, and if it were not for the loyalty of our employees, we wouldn't have been in business for more than 30 years."
