ATLANTA (AP) - Police in suburban Atlanta say they're investigating the shooting of a woman in a mall parking lot.

Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce says a man and a woman were involved in some sort of fight just before the shooting at Cumberland Mall in northwest Atlanta Monday afternoon.

He says the man shot the woman. He then fired at a bystander who tried to help the woman and then shot the woman again. The bystander wasn't injured and details on the victim's injuries weren't immediately available.

Pierce says the shooting outside of a Macy's department store didn't appear to be random, and it's unclear what the two were arguing about.

Pierce says the shooter got in the passenger seat of a white van and left the scene.
